Create real, meaningful benefits for nature, people, and climate

+ NbS Projects

established with support from the SCeNe Coalition (2023-2024)

We deliver tangible, net-positive impacts to nature, people, and climate across Southeast Asia by supporting frontline organizations in scoping project areas, assessing technical capacity, and showcasing their initiatives to potential investors

Southeast Asia has immense potential for implementing high-quality NbS

  • Diverse habitats and species

Southeast Asia contains 15% of the world’s tropical forests (including intact forests), 35% of the coral reefs, 25 million hectares of peatland and many more unique ecosystems. In addition, 20% of the world’s vertebrate and plant species are found in this region.

  • High density, nature-dependent communities

Southeast Asia is home to 650 million people, many of whom are highly dependent on nature for their livelihood as well as food security.

  • Natural Landscapes of the Future: Strengthening Southeast Asia's Climate Resilience

Southeast Asia encompasses roughly 25% of the planet's investible forest carbon, 19-49% of its blue carbon, and nearly 97% of tropical peatlands carbon sinks.

Southeast Asia holds huge potential to harness NbS as it accounts for 15% of the world's tropical forests (including intact forests), 35% of the coral reefs, 25 million hectares of peatland.

The SCeNe Coalition aims to accelerate & scale up demand for and supply of high-quality Nature-based Solution (NbS) in Southeast Asia (SEA)

Scaling Climate Finance to deliver high-quality NbS

Demand for carbon credits is expected to exceed supply by 635Mt by 2030, representing a potential additional funding opportunity of $8-32Bn

The SCeNe Coalition aims to direct carbon and climate financing, towards high-quality, triple-benefits NbS

Our key workstreams

Providing strategic and systematic solutions

After the challenges and NbS potential in SEA were identified, an interconnected theory of change was created by the coalition, forming a system known as “workstreams.” Each workstream occupies a distinct role in NbS project development.
